SERVE

SERVE (Socio-Economic, Ecological, Religious, Virtuous, Empowerment) is a non-profit organization established in 1999, dedicated to advancing the rights and wellbeing of children and families across Sri Lanka. Working in ten districts, SERVE empowers communities to assess and strengthen child rights through participatory approaches while supporting women and children to achieve socio-economic resilience. Through the Supeksha project, SERVE provides holistic support to children living with their mothers in prison, including nutrition supplements, essential confinement items, and basic living needs. Recognizing the importance of early childhood development, SERVE also conducts play and preschool education through two preschools in Welikada and Kalutara prisons, ensuring that children of imprisoned mothers have access to nurturing, age-appropriate learning opportunities. Through these initiatives, SERVE bridges grassroots realities with institutional advocacy, fostering dignity, inclusion, and hope for some of the most vulnerable families in Sri Lanka.
